Well, I thought we had a great fundraiser working at the UT Football games this season, but there are some snags currently.
First of all-- we ARE an approved group to work fundraisers at UT Football games. We are also approved to work basketball, baseball, and other sports functions, which is really cool and helpful.
However, we are currently waiting for a vendor ID number and training session to learn how to work the concessions. I've called and emailed the office responsible for this, but have not heard anything yet. Apparently we're on a short "backup list." Hopefully we'll hear something about this soon.
I've been looking to hire a non-profit fundraiser on a commission basis to work toward getting funding for us. I've had a few nibbles, but nothing solid yet. I'm looking into working with local restaurants and other businesses to get sponsorships or hold fundraiser events with them. Many of these involve getting people to go to their business, and since I have no clear-cut idea of how many people will be in the guard, it's kind of difficult to gauge how successful those opportunities will be.
Things will start to happen shortly, I'm sure.
