2011 Season Approaches!

As we prepare for 2011 winter season, we have begun reflecting on our previous seasons to see what has worked and what hasn't. 

The directors of ATX Winterguard are always seeking to improve ourselves, our staff, and our performers in this activity we love, and as people in general. We see ourselves not as competitors, but as a family that strives to achieve greatness together through individual effort.

I feel that 2011 will be a positive turning point for ATX Winterguard for several reasons. 1) We've brought back and brought in some really strong writers and designers for this season. 2) We're more focused and prepared than we have been in the past two years to be nationally competitive. 3) We've had our strongest turn out yet at round 1 auditions; and round 2 auditions on September 26, 2010, promise to bring even more strong talent to ATX. 4) People are traveling from hours away to audition for our group and to be members of our family. 

It is quite a humbling, yet rewarding, feeling to know that people would rather march with our group than with others because they see how well everyone gets along, how we all work together, and that we have fun doing what we do and doing it to the best of our abilities.

To those who have been unsure about being a member of our guard- all we say is give it a chance. You'll never know what you're missing unless you show up! To those who have showed up and decided to march somewhere else or not at all-- thank you for giving us a chance to show you what our group is like! We're better people for having met you, and we hoped that you took something positive away from the experience.

To those who have come and decided to stay or to help out as supporters, thank you most of all! ATX Winterguard definitely would not be here without you!

ATX Senior: Auditions Sunday, Sept 19. 12:30 to 6 pm. All experience levels welcome. Ages 23+. $40 one-time audition fee. St Louis Catholic School 7601 Burnett Rd, Austin, TX

ATX Independent A: Round 2 Auditions Sunday, Sept 26. 12:30 to 6 pm. All experience levels welcome. Ages 16 and up. $40 one-time audition fee. St Louis Catholic School 7601 Burnett Rd, Austin, TX

ATX Independent Regional A: Auditions Nov 6, 2010. 9 am to 2 pm  All experience levels welcome. Ages 12-16. $20 one-time audition fee. Location TBA.
