Meeting new people is fun!

Meeting new people is fun! or How Networking can keep you sane!

I'm always excited about meeting new people. I'm really a shy person, but I try to really put myself out there and get to things where I can meet people in comfortable situations and get to know them better.

Tonight I went to the 501 Tech meeting. This is a group of people who run, or work with non-profit organizations in the Austin area.

Mike Chapman was the host of the evening. I got there a little late because of traffic, and having to stay at work a later than I wanted to (and I didn't get to run some of the errands I needed to run today); but I still got to hear a lot of the conversation and information that was going on.

I even offered some insight into the legitimacy of using social media as a networking and advertising tool to promote non-profit causes.

Good times! I hope I can make the next meeting in January! :-)
